The Team Challenge

Talented individuals don't automatically form high-performing teams.

The Silent Cost of Dysfunction

Organizations often assemble teams with brilliant individuals — experts in their domains, proven track records, and impressive credentials. Yet these same teams fail. They move slowly. Politics dominate decisions. Trust erodes. Strategic initiatives stall. Talent leaves. Customers feel the friction.

Why? Because individual excellence doesn't automatically translate to team effectiveness. High-performing teams require something different: psychological safety, role clarity, aligned priorities, open communication, and genuine accountability to each other. Most teams operate with unspoken tensions, unclear decision-making authority, and leaders unsure how to navigate difficult conversations.

Great team coaches observe what data can't reveal: the interpersonal dynamics, the moment when someone shuts down, the power plays that undermine collaboration, and the unspoken assumptions that create misalignment. They work at the system level — helping teams develop new norms, communication patterns, and behavioral agreements that actually stick.

What High-Performing Teams Actually Have

Psychological Safety
Team members feel safe to speak up, admit mistakes, ask for help, disagree respectfully. Vulnerability is normalized. Risk-taking is encouraged.
Role Clarity
Each person understands their responsibility, authority, and how they contribute to team success. Decision-making authority is explicit.
Shared Purpose
The team is united around clear goals and shared values. Priorities are explicit. Everyone knows why their work matters.
Open Communication
Difficult conversations happen directly in the room, not in back channels. Conflict is navigated constructively.
Mutual Accountability
Team members hold each other accountable with respect. Commitments are honored. Consequences exist.
The Team Acceleration Model

How we build high-performing teams. From assessment through sustained performance.

We work at multiple levels simultaneously — assessing team dynamics, conducting individual coaching, facilitating breakthrough conversations, and building the habits that sustain high performance long after we're gone.

Phase 1: Current State Assessment

We begin with a comprehensive evaluation: individual assessments for each team member (360 feedback, personality, emotional intelligence), interviews with team members and stakeholders, and observation of the team in action. We get the full picture — what's working, where friction exists, what dynamics are creating slowness or politics. This diagnostic phase takes 2-3 weeks and establishes a baseline for measuring progress.

Phase 2: Leadership Summit — Kickoff

A 1-2 day immersive session where the real work begins. The team explores team dynamics together, surfaces unspoken tensions, establishes new norms and agreements, and commits to behavioral change. We use research-backed exercises that shift how team members see themselves and each other. The summit is where breakthrough happens — where teams move from dysfunction to possibility.

Phase 3: Individual Coaching + Team Facilitation

Each team member receives individual coaching focused on their role in team dynamics. Simultaneously, the team participates in monthly facilitated sessions to sustain momentum, navigate challenges, and deepen alignment. Individual coaching ensures that team performance depends on individual growth of each member. The combination of 1:1 and group work creates powerful leverage for change.

Phase 4: Leadership Summit — Closing

A final 1-2 day summit celebrating transformation, consolidating new behaviors and agreements, and creating forward momentum to sustain performance. The team reflects on what shifted — in how they relate, how they make decisions, how they execute. Coaches help the team build accountability structures to maintain progress long after the engagement ends.

Outcomes That Matter

What changes when team coaching works.

Observable Team Shifts

Faster Decision-Making
Clarity about authority and process means less deliberation, fewer back-channel conversations, faster execution.
Reduced Politics & Tension
Difficult conversations happen directly. Back-channel alliances dissolve. Team members compete less, collaborate more.
Higher Engagement & Retention
Team members feel heard, valued, and part of something meaningful. Voluntary turnover decreases.
Improved Organizational Effectiveness
Teams that work well together accelerate organizational strategy. Projects move faster. Cross-functional collaboration improves.
Better Business Results
High-performing teams produce better products, hit targets, innovate faster, and deliver superior customer outcomes.

Team Engagement Transformation

When team dynamics shift, people notice. Direct reports report higher trust in leadership. Peers report better collaboration. Cross-functional partners experience smoother interactions.

"It's easy to identify a winning culture when you see a highly functional team — fully committed, free of politics, moving together toward shared goals."
— Team Performance Research
High-performing teams aren't born — they're built. They require intentional work on trust, clarity, communication, and alignment. The investment pays enormous dividends in execution speed and business results.
How We Engage

Customized to your team.

We meet teams where they are — whether newly formed, existing but struggling, or facing major organizational change.

New Teams

Accelerate the productivity curve by transforming individuals into a high-performing team from day one. Avoid the costly trial-and-error of teams figuring it out on their own.

Existing Teams

Re-energize teams by building on current strengths and re-imagining what's possible. Determine new rules of engagement to ignite purpose and reignite performance.

Teams in Transition

Focus and align teams navigating change. Help them rapidly respond to new challenges, clarify priorities, and adapt roles while staying in motion.

Team Assessment Foundation

Understanding team dynamics through multiple lenses.

Team assessments reveal patterns that individual feedback can't capture. We combine team and individual assessments to guide coaching focus.

Team Dynamics 360
Multi-Source Team Feedback
Measures how the team functions across key dimensions: clarity of vision, psychological safety, role clarity, communication quality, decision-making processes, and trust. Reveals unspoken tensions and group dynamics that individual 360s miss. Creates a shared diagnosis that team members can discuss and act on together.
Team trust Role clarity Decision quality Psychological safety
Individual 360s
Multi-Source Leadership Feedback
Each team member receives feedback from peers, direct reports (if applicable), and the leader. Reveals how individuals are perceived and the impact they have on team dynamics. Differences between team members' feedback often surface role conflicts or misalignment.
Leadership impact Team role Collaboration style Blind spots
Personality & EQ
Individual Assessments
Team members complete personality (i.e., Hogan, Birkman, Enneagram, etc.) and emotional intelligence assessments. Helps the team understand each other's natural styles, decision-making approaches, and how individuals respond to stress. Creates empathy and reduces unnecessary interpersonal friction.
